Kindermusik Our Time is the optimal transition class for the toddler (18 months - 3 years) from being a needy baby to being an independented preschooler. The toddler benefits from the Our Time curriculum as it promotes music making in the home, allows for children to participate at their own level of development, and fosters the formation of positive character traits, such as, self-confidence, cooperation, sharing, and self-expression. During this forty-five minute class, there is an emphasis on experiencing the music through multiple types of movement. The children enjoy the independence of participating in age appropriate activities with peers while still being able to receive reassurance from a parent, grandparent, or other familiar grown-up. Adults are encouraged to take cues from their child, regarding their level of involvement, sometimes that means being a model, partner, or observer.
